Minhaj European Council
Minhaj European Council (MEC) is the leading representative body of Minhaj-ul-Quran International across Europe, tasked with unifying and coordinating the efforts of national Minhaj chapters throughout the continent. Founded to support the vision of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, MEC promotes peace, spirituality, interfaith harmony, and education, while also addressing the social and cultural challenges faced by European Muslim communities.
MEC provides strategic direction and guidance to its affiliated chapters, ensuring that the organization’s core objectives—promoting peace, countering extremism, fostering interfaith dialogue, and supporting social welfare—are implemented across Europe in a structured and cohesive manner. The Council facilitates conferences, workshops, and educational programs through its member countries and forums, aimed at strengthening spiritual awareness, community engagement, and religious education.
In addition, MEC plays a vital role in developing leadership within Minhaj’s European network, focusing on youth empowerment, women’s leadership, and capacity-building initiatives. Through fostering collaboration among its member organizations, the Council enables knowledge sharing, resource allocation, and the development of unified strategies to address common issues faced by European Muslim communities.
The Minhaj European Council also facilitates collaboration between its member countries and forums with international and local bodies, faith communities, and governmental institutions. These efforts are aimed at creating a positive impact on society, including humanitarian work, campaigns to promote community cohesion, and interfaith dialogue to build bridges between diverse communities.
By working in partnership with its national chapters, MEC helps build a stronger, more resilient network of Minhaj organizations, enabling them to provide effective services and support to their communities in line with the principles of love, peace, and tolerance.
