A Profile of Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri (Chairman Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International)

Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri is chairman of the Supreme Council of MQI and is responsible for all organizational matters of MQI in over 90 countries. He also oversees the Minhaj Welfare Foundation International (MWF), the Minhaj College of Manchester (MCM), the College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences (COSIS), Lahore, the Minhaj College for Women (MCW), Lahore, and their affiliated branches worldwide. He is also a member of the board of governors of Minhaj University Lahore (MUL) and a director of al-Mawakhat Islamic Microfinance. He is the chairman of the board of governors of Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan (NMP), that runs over tens of hundreds of religious seminaries that are affiliated to it.
Dr Hassan received his PhD in Islamic and Western Constitutional Law from the Arab League University, Egypt. The title of his PhD dissertation was “The Constitution of Medina and Modern Constitutional Principles: A Comparative Study of American, British & European Constitutional Laws”, which is written in Arabic. His research on the Medinan Constitution is a unique piece of work providing an important analysis of Islamic constitutional principles. He has authored more than 25 books and articles on a wide range of subjects including Qur’anic sciences, exegesis, hadith sciences, Sira of the Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him), morality, sufism, law, constitution, jurisprudence, linguistics and contemporary issues. He is an expressive and eloquent speaker and a tireless campaigner for the ‎promotion of knowledge, education, peace, human rights and inter- and intra-‎faith harmony, social cohesion, integration, tolerance, and moderation. He frequently attends and addresses the international conferences, seminars and workshops at various platforms.
